The ALC is an alternative campus designed to serve students in the Bridgeport Independent Schools and Wise County Special Education Cooperative through three programs focused on individual student needs.

ACE Assist
The Assist Program is designed for students who, through severe or repeated violations of the Bridgeport Independent School District's Code of Conduct policies or have committed violations listed in Educ. Code Chapter 37 which requires mandatory placement, have been removed from the home campus. The student program at ACE Assist emphasizes behavioral adjustment through self discipline and provides opportunities for academic success. Assist is the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program for BISD.The emphasis in Assist is on making the behavioral adjustment in order to return to the home campus.
ACE Challenge
The staff and students of ACE Challenged are dedicated to the academic and personal enrichment of each individual in a positive and supportive environment. Special attention is given to providing students with the assistance necessary to accelerate their education and complete all academic requirements for high school graduation. ACE Challenge is an alternative school of choice, which focuses on drop-out prevention. Students in this program are at risk of not completing their high school education. Challenge provides a self-paced instruction plan. It fills a void for regular education students who need a non-traditional program. The program leads to a high school diploma.
Who is eligible for this program?
Students between the ages of 16 and 21 may be accepted in ACE Challenge Program if they have a compelling reason or meet one or more of the following requirements:
short on credits to be on grade level appropriate for age
dropped out of school
married
pregnant
parenting
completion at ACE Assist
Who is NOT eligible?
Students are not assigned to the ACE Challenge Program as a disciplinary action. Expelled students are not eligible during the term of the expulsion.
BIC
BIC (Behaviors in Control) is the behavior unit for Wise County Special Education Cooperative. It serves students whose behavioral problems prevent them from receiving a free and appropriate education on a regular campus. The behavior unit serves students of all grade levels from six WCSEC member districts. The primary focus of BIC is to equip students with the necessary social and self control skills to allow them to return successfully to their original campus.
