I like kids and I like books, so after over 20 years in another career, I went back to college and got a degree and the certifications to be a school librarian.  I have been the librarian at Bridgeport Intermediate School since 1994.

The main goal in our library program is for the kids to become enthusiastic independent readers.  In early elementary the children learn to read.  Here they begin to use and strengthen their skills so that reading is fun and easy.  Our students must read well to pass the State test, but even more important they must read well to be successful in school.  Reading enhances what they learn in class and gives them the opportunity to explore subjects that interest them.  I believe that reading  adds  pleasure to life.

If your child has any difficulties or needs do not hesitate to contact me. I will be more than happy to help in any way I can.   Call 683-5784 and ask for the library or email me at lclary@bridgeportisd.net.
