Steve Henry
Principal

Mr.. Henry is starting his 6th year at Bridgeport ISD.  This is his 35th year in education.  Prior to moving to Texas he resided in Clovis, New Mexico for 25 as a teacher and coach.  Upon his retirement there, he and his wife, Peggy, moved to Bridgeport and settled in Runaway Bay where they have just built a new home. Upon receiving his Administrative Certificate in Texas, he took the position as Assistant Principal at Bridgeport Intermediate and recently acquired the Principal position there.  Mr. Henry and his wife Peggy have been married for 35 years and have two sons.  He enjoys the staff and kids in the Bridgeport schools where it is a pleasant change from the larger school he came from.  He enjoys fishing and has just taken up golf which he likes very much when weather and time permit.

Bridgeport Intermediate Schools has recently become a Model School in the State of Texas for the Great Expectation Program.  Thanks to the dedicated efforts of its faculty and former Principal, Mr. Furman Clark, Bridgeport Intermediate is on its way to building a better tomorrow.  The success of this program has spread across the nation and we are fortunate to be on the ground floor of a new beginning in the education process.  I am excited about the progress we have made and look forward to helping other Texas schools implement this program.
