My name is Angela VanHoose, and I’m proud to say I was born and raised right here in Bridgeport. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 1991 with both my bachelor's and master's degrees in education. After spending the first of my teaching career in Keller ISD, I decided ten years ago to return home to Bridgeport. This is my 18th year to teach fourth grade, and I’ve stayed with this grade because I enjoy it. I like the curriculum and I love my kids.
While I’ve taught every subject at one time or another, I love writing--both doing it and teaching it--the most. As a language arts teacher, I am very happy to get to spend time teaching and doing what I love most. I am delighted to be working with Tischa Fry; she teaches math, science, and social studies to our two classes.
I was a Great Expectations certified instructor, and I believe GE has been a wonderful influence on my teaching and my classroom. I spend a great deal of time outside my classroom with my family, especially my niece, two nephews, and two brand new kittens. From January through April, you can usually find me after school at H&R Block doing something else I love to do--beating the IRS at their own game; I’ve been a certified tax preparer and ERO for 10 years. And most Friday nights in the fall, you’ll find me in the bleachers yelling myself hoarse. Go Bulls!
