Bridgeport ISD is committed to providing a quality educational experience every day for our students. Occasionally, the weather becomes a factor beyond our control and can cause changes in the daily schedule. We know that closings can cause problems for families; therefore, weather conditions are carefully reviewed before classes are cancelled or started late.
If weather conditions exist that will have an effect upon driving conditions and/or school facilities, it may become necessary to delay the start of school or close schools.
Decisions to close school will be announced by 6:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as possible.
The safety of our families and staff will always be our top priority when we are faced with decisions about school closings due to weather.
When changes to the normal school schedule occur, we will post information on the home page of our website, Facebook page, and Instagram account. We will also notify local TV and radio stations, and use our call out system to notify our families and staff.
