Technology in the BISD Classroom

STANDARD BISD CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY


Every classroom in BISD is equipped with a project and SMART Board.  Many of the classrooms have document cameras as well.  Teachers are assigned a laptop that they connect to the classroom projector.  All BISD campuses are outfitted with internet and wireless connectivity.  However, the types of additional technology available vary from campus to campus.
 

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (GRADES PK-2)


Pre-Kindergarten classrooms are equipped with iPad carts with enough devices for each student.
 
Grades K-2 participate in a 1:1 Chromebook environment.  Each classroom is furnished with a Chromebook Cart with enough devices for each student.
 

INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL (GRADES 3-5)


Students participate in the 1:1 Chromebook program.  Each classroom is furnished with a Chromebook Cart with enough devices for each student. 
 

MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 6-8)


Middle School students participate in the 1:1 Chromebook program.  These devices are intended to enhance the students' learning and engage them in activities that go beyond the traditional instructional program. 
 
 

HIGH SCHOOL (GRADES 9-12)


High School students (grades 9-12) participate in the 1:1 Laptop program which provides each student with a MacBook Air.  Macbooks were selected to give students a high-quality device that allows them to create professional-level work products similar to what they will create in the workplace.  Click here to find out more information about our Student Laptop Program.
