Bridgeport News Stories
Bridgeport Independent School District is searching for the next Principal of Bridgeport High School following the resignation of Andrew Hohman last week. Mr. Hohman accepted a principal’s position closer to home, but will be finishing out the rest of this school year at BHS where he has served as principal for the past two years. Prior to that, Mr. Hohman was Principal of BISD’s Alternative Learning Center.
“We appreciate Mr. Hohman’s service to the students of our district and wish him well in his new role,” said Assistant Superintendent PJ Giamanco. “BISD is focused on finding a qualified campus principal who is a strong advocate for student success, an able instructional leader and can promote a positive school culture at Bridgeport High School going forward.”
Giamanco said parents and staff at BHS have been invited to participate in a survey to share feedback on the characteristics they seek in a high school principal. In-person meetings for feedback from BHS faculty will take place early next week. School officials have posted the principal vacancy and are now accepting applications.
Following a paper screening of applicants, interviews of qualified candidates will be conducted by a committee of district and campus administrators, teachers, counselors and parents. Second round interviews and reference checks will immediately follow. The Superintendent hopes to make a final recommendation to the School Board later this month.
