$26 Million Single-Proposition Bond

Election Day: May 4

The Bridgeport ISD Board of Trustees voted Feb. 15 to call a bond election for Saturday, May 4. The $26 million single-proposition bond proposal will not require a tax rate increase and is significantly smaller than the bond package recommended by a citizens’ facility planning committee.

The May bond is intended to address critical facility updates and safety and security projects on BISD campuses. The package includes 12 school buses to replace a portion of the district's aging bus fleet and an intent to reimburse for land. Proposed maintenance projects include HVAC, roof repair, updated paint and flooring at each of the four campuses.
