Abby Crawford Joins Bridgeport ISD as New Director of Human Resources and Fine Arts
Abby Crawford was named the new Director of Human Resources and Fine Arts for Bridgeport ISD at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on Monday, May 9. Crawford joins the Bridgeport ISD team from Castleberry ISD, where she is currently serving as the Director of Fine Arts and Cheerleading.
“Ms. Crawford will be an incredible asset to our district,” said Superintendent Dr. Amy Ellis. “Her ability to provide leadership to our fine arts efforts and continue to grow the program is something that we are excited about. We are also looking forward to having someone who can focus on recruitment and retention of highly qualified staff, which is one of the biggest challenges facing the entire state.”
Prior to arriving at Bridgeport ISD, Crawford has spent six years as a district level administrator and 10 years as the Director of Bands at Lubbock High School. Her experience includes recruiting and selecting highly qualified educators for a 4A Title I district, facilitating professional development for all staff at the elementary, middle and high school levels and building and implementing curriculum for each discipline of Fine Arts.
“I am excited about becoming part of the team in Bridgeport ISD,” said Crawford. “The district has a reputation of excellence in all areas, and I am looking forward to meeting and working with the amazing staff on every campus.”
In her new role at Bridgeport ISD, Crawford will oversee the Fine Art efforts of the district. Additionally, she will be responsible for the Human Resources department in Bridgeport ISD, which conducts the hiring of all staff, employee management and benefits, and more. Crawford will start her new role at Bridgeport ISD in July.
