Bridgeport Elementary School Named Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School

Bridgeport Elementary School has been named a 2022 Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School. Based on the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (BRSE) national assessment process, Bridgeport Elementary met the criteria for all nine categories.

“Our campus has been working hard to achieve Blue Ribbon Lighthouse status since the fall of 2020,” said Bridgeport Elementary School Principal Martha Bock. “I am so proud of the work of our teachers and staff.”

Designation as a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School lasts for five years, at which time the school will be eligible for renewal. Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools commit to sharing expertise and exemplary practices with other schools on a local, regional, and national level as well as providing mentoring and networking to schools seeking guidance and assistance in school improvement initiatives.

“Our teachers and staff at BES consistently do what is best for kids and this award is an example of that,” said Superintendent Dr. Amy Ellis. “We are very proud to recognize the hard work of our BES family!”

This award will be presented during the Blue Ribbon Schools Conference in Orlando, Florida at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Convention Center at the Awards Luncheon on Friday, Dec. 2.

“I can't think of a more deserving group of educators,” said Bock. “Our students deserve the best, and our staff is dedicated to excellence every single day!”
