Board Approves New Assistant Principal at Bridgeport Middle School

At the Board Meeting on Monday, Nov. 14, Mrs Barbara Howard was approved as the new Assistant Principal at Bridgeport Middle School.

“Mrs. Howard will be an incredible asset to the Bridgeport Middle School family,” said Bridgeport ISD Superintendent Dr. Amy Ellis. “She has high expectations for herself and her students, but also takes the time to serve the district as a whole by participating on district committees and curriculum writing teams.”

Howard graduated with her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and with her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont. She currently serves as a 7th Grade Math Teacher at Bridgeport Middle School.

"I am excited to be taking on this new role at Bridgeport Middle, where I have been teaching for a little over eight years," said Howard. "I am so happy to be able to be a part of the Bridgeport community and watch students, past and present, do amazing things!"

Howard has thirteen years of experience as a classroom teacher. She also served as a softball coach and participates on the Curriculum Writing Team and Grading Guidelines Committee for this district. Howard will begin her role as BMS Assistant Principal on Jan. 3, 2023.
