Board Approves New Bridgeport Intermediate School Assistant Principal
At the Board Meeting on Monday, May 8, the Board of Trustees approved Mrs. Lauren Martin as the new Assistant Principal at Bridgeport Intermediate School.
Martin graduated with her Bachelor’s of Art’s in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and with her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont. She currently serves as the Instructional Coach at Bridgeport Intermediate School.
"Bridgeport Intermediate has been my home for the last five years, and I couldn't be more excited to continue to serve the families, staff, and students on this campus,” said Martin. “I'm looking forward to the 2023-24 school year and the future of Bridgeport ISD!"
Martin’s experience includes four years as a classroom teacher, serving as a Dual Language program teacher, ELAR Team Leader and Teacher Mentor. She is also trained in Restorative Behavior Management and was named as the BISD Elementary/Intermediate Teacher of the Year.
“BISD and BIS are excited about what Mrs. Martin will bring to our classrooms for the 2023-24 school year,” said Assistant Superintendent P.J. Giamanco. “Her transition from teacher, to instructional coach, and now administrator will provide her a greater connection to our students and our classrooms. Her empathy for all parties in the classroom will continue the rise for BIS.”
Martin will begin her role as the BIS Assistant Principal on July 24, 2023.
