New Wise County Shared Services Director Named

At the Special Board Meeting on Monday, May 15, the Bridgeport ISD Board of Trustees named Aaron Heil as the new Wise County Shared Services Director.

Heil has served the last four years as the Special Education Coordinator for Carroll ISD. Prior to becoming a district coordinator he served for 17 years as a behavior intervention teacher and lead of the special education department at a 6A high school. While working as a teacher he was named as the high school Teacher of the Year. Heil graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University and his Master of Education in Special Education Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

“Wise County Shared Services and Bridgeport ISD are excited that with strong support, commitment from administrators, teachers and staff Mr. Heil will be able to serve the needs and advocate for the programs to support students and enrich their lives in school,” said Assistant Superintendent P.J. Giamanco. “His passion for growing every student will be evident, while providing support and leadership for our staff.”

During his time in the education field, Heil served as the district lead for all Special Education staff development, lead of compliance for IEP writings, provided district and campus vertical alignment, coordinated district and college transition fairs and supervised community-based learning for students. He also had experience in the development of district social skills groups as well as collaborating on conflict resolution for students, families and staff.

"A true leader is not measured by their power, but by their kindness, compassion, and humility,” said Heil. “I’m looking forward to the new start in Wise County and what we will accomplish for kids together as a team.”

Heil will begin his role as Wise County Shared Services Director on July 1, 2023.
