Board of Trustees Approve New Technology Systems Coordinator
At the Board Meeting on Monday, May 8, the Board of Trustees approved Mr. Tony Smart as the new Technology Systems Coordinator in Bridgeport ISD. Smart has served for the last year as a Bridgeport ISD District Computer Technician. Prior to coming to BISD he was the Enterprise Systems Architect for Bentley Mills, Inc. for 11 years where he was responsible for hardware and software solutions.
“Mr. Smart’s leadership and experience in the tech industry will provide BISD the ability to continue to grow our programs,” said Assistant Superintendent P.J. Giamanco. “This last year he made strong connections with our staff and students that strengthened his ability to meet technology needs in the academic setting.”
Smart’s experience includes developing system requirements to achieve goals through technology, transitioning from on-premises to cloud-based applications, and being well-versed in multiple programming languages and HTML and Web Development.
“Technology is becoming a bigger part of our daily lives every day,” said Smart. “I am excited to be a part of integrating technology with education to prepare our students for the future!”
Smart will transition from his current role to Technology Systems Coordinator on July 1, 2023.
