Amber Gilbert Named New Assistant Principal at Bridgeport Elementary School
Mrs. Amber Gilbert has been named as the new Assistant Principal at Bridgeport Elementary School. Gilbert joins the Bridgeport family from Haltom Middle School, where she has served as an eighth grade science teacher for the last nine years. Prior to her time at Haltom Middle School, Gilbert worked as a teacher and coach in Castleberry ISD.
“Amber possesses a gift of relationships with all students she has worked with to be an effective change agent in schools,” said Assistant Superintendent PJ Giamanco. “She is very consistent day in and day out with an optimistic outlook about the abilities of all students and their future, and we are excited about what she will bring to the BES community!”
Gilbert graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of North Texas, and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she also completed principal certification. In her time as an educator, Gilbert has served 13 years as a science teacher, been a Science and Eighth Grade Team Lead, served on the Campus Improvement Team, and is trained in Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol, Kagan Training, and Kilgo data-driven decision making and assessment.
Gilbert will begin her role in Bridgeport ISD at the end of July.
