At the Board Meeting on Monday, July 10, Lee Snodgrass was reassigned from Director of Transportation, Safety & Security to a newly formed position, Assistant Superintendent of Operations. This position was created as a combination of two roles: Mr. Snodgrass’ current role as Director of Transportation, Safety & Security, and the role of Director of Operations, previously held by Steve Sturdivant, who retired at the end of the 2022-23 school year. 

"I’m honored to have worked with Bridgeport ISD for the past 20 years in many capacities,” said Snodgrass. “I‘m looking forward to continuing to serve the families, staff, and students for the next 20.” 

In this new role, Snodgrass will oversee six divisions within Bridgeport ISD: 

• Transportation
• Safety and Security, including SROs
• Maintenance
• Custodial
• Technology 
• Health Services (nurses)

Snodgrass earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from American InterContinental University and his Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Angelo State University. He currently serves as the district's Transportation, Safety and Security Director. Snodgrass' experience includes 20 years as a police officer, both in the U.S. Air Force and Bridgeport Police Department, where he retired as a Master Peace Officer in 2019. He also held multiple roles at Bridgeport ISD in the Operations Division. Snodgrass received the Superintendent's Initiative Award in 2021 and is an active executive committee member in Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) and Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) affiliates.

“Mr. Snodgrass brings a wealth of experience both in serving the community of Bridgeport as well as a background in law enforcement,” said Superintendent Dr. Amy Ellis.  “We are excited for him to serve the district and our community in this new capacity.”

Snodgrass will assume his new role as Assistant Superintendent of Operations on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
